Our school celebrated International Friendship Day from 13 to15 April, with engaging activities centred on the theme “Forging Friendships in a Complex World.” Students explored cultural diversity and built meaningful connections with both local and international peers.
Highlights included a Wefie Competition, where students expressed their understanding of friendship through creative photographs and reflective captions, showcasing empathy and cross-cultural appreciation. Students also worked in groups to design 2D1N Singapore itineraries for overseas friends, taking on the role of cultural ambassadors while deepening their awareness of local heritage.
The celebration culminated in a hall programme featuring student presentations on 3D2N travel itineraries to countries such as India, Myanmar, Malaysia and the Philippines, highlighting diverse cultural practices. Complementing these activities, Character and Citizenship Education lessons encouraged reflection on empathy, respect and inclusion.
Through these experiences, students strengthened their global awareness and developed a deeper appreciation for building meaningful friendships across cultures.
