2025 Top N Level
As one of the GCE N-Level top performers, my journey was not always smooth or ideal. During my four years at Regent Secondary School, I faced significant academic challenges that tested my perseverance. In my first two years, school felt tough and demanding, and I struggled to cope with the many subjects due to poor time management. Despite putting in the effort, I did not achieve my desired results, and the constant academic stress left me tired and discouraged. However, in Secondary Three, I decided to try again and prepare seriously for the N-Levels. I adopted different study methods, sought guidance from my teachers, completed more practice papers, and re-learned the basics. Through consistent effort, I worked hard for the N-Levels and eventually achieved the results I had hoped for. This success would not have been possible without the strong support and encouragement from my teachers, friends, and family.
My achievement of EMB3 score of 9 at the GCE N-Level examinations is a reflection of my perseverance and growth over four years. At the start of my secondary school journey, I faced significant challenges in managing time and facing academic pressure as I often played video games instead of studying which put me behind most of my classmates.
For my prelim exam results, I obtained 19 points for my EMB3 score and that worried me a lot. Determined to do better, I made a conscious effort to change my study habits. I began studying more conscientiously and consulted my teachers regularly on all my doubts.
My academic journey has taught me valuable lessons. I have learnt that it is important to seek help and that consistent effort matters more than last-minute studying. I also learnt that it is important to choose friends wisely as peer support is very valuable. Having friends who are motivated and encouraging is very valuable for our emotional support.
The journey was not easy, but I reminded myself to stay focused and not give up. Thanks to the Regent teachers, I am now in Singapore Poly and I could not have done it without them. My success reflects the supportive learning environment fostered by the school.
My experience at Regent Secondary School was both meaningful and fulfilling. One of the biggest reasons I have enjoyed my time here is the friendships I built along the way. The memories we created — during lessons, after school, and even over simple moments at recess — made my school life truly enjoyable and unforgettable.
In the lower secondary years, I was coping well academically. However, when I reached Secondary 3, I began to face challenges in several subjects. Instead of letting those difficulties define me, I made a firm decision to improve in Secondary 4. I pushed myself to study more consistently, practiced diligently, and sought ways to strengthen my understanding. Through perseverance and hard work, I achieved AL5 for my GCE N-Level examinations. This result reflects the growth and progress I have made over my four years at Regent.
Beyond academic subjects, Regent has helped me grow into a stronger and more resilient individual. I used to give up easily when faced with challenges or when I did not understand something. Today, I am more determined and willing to seek help when needed. I have learned that growth comes from persistence and the courage to keep trying.
To current students, my advice is simple: always give your best, even when things feel difficult. At the same time, cherish the friendships you build and make the most of every moment. The memories you create will stay with you long after your school journey ends.
My time at Regent Secondary School was a journey filled with challenges, growth, and lessons that have shaped who I am today. It was not always smooth, but every experience felt meaningful and real.
One of the most defining moments for me was during my prelim examinations. My results were far below what I had hoped for, and it deeply affected my confidence. It would have been easy to give up then, but instead, I decided to push myself harder. I stayed back after school for consultations, dedicated more time to revision, and challenged myself to improve.
That determination paid off. When my GCE N-Level results were released, I achieved AL10 with 2 CCA points, bringing my final score to AL8. I was successfully admitted into the ITE course for Retail and Online Business. This achievement meant more than just gaining entry into a course — it was proof that perseverance and hard work can truly turn things around. It also reflects how
Regent Secondary School nurtures not only academic excellence but also valuable skills and experiences through co-curricular activities, preparing students for future pathways.
What stands out most from my time at Regent is the value of perseverance. Whether in the classroom, during CCA activities, or simply navigating daily school life, setbacks were part of the journey. But they were never the end — they were stepping stones toward something greater.
Beyond academic subjects, the school taught me resilience — how to rise after falling, stay focused on my goals, and believe in my own abilities. The encouragement and support from teachers and friends made a significant difference during difficult times, and I am truly grateful for that.
To the students who are still walking the halls of Regent Secondary School - setbacks may feel overwhelming, but they do not define your future. Keep showing up, keep trying, and trust the process. Your effort can take you further than you imagine.
This is my heartfelt thank you to the school, the teachers, and to the part of myself that chose not to give up.
