Live On Festival (LOF) Essay competition 2026

Regent Secondary School is proud to share that Yan Pei Ting Yovin from Class 2-Pride, supported by the teachers in the English Language Department, has won a Certificate of Award in the 2026 Live On Festival (LOF) Essay Writing Competition. Organised by the National Organ Transplant Unit (NOTU) under the Ministry of Health, this national competition encourages youths to explore themes of organ donation, empathy and hope through creative and thoughtful writing. Among the many entries submitted by schools across Singapore, Yovin’s compelling essay impressed the judges and was selected as one of the winning entries in the Junior Category.

The award ceremony took place on 29 August 2026, bringing together student writers, educators and guests to celebrate the achievements of the award recipients. As part of the recognition, Yovin’s winning essay will be featured on the official Live On Festival (LOF) essay compilation website and in published collaterals, which will be distributed to participating schools across Singapore.

Reflecting on her achievement, Yovin shared how writing for the competition gave her a unique opportunity to reflect deeply on life-saving choices and the importance of compassion within the community. Her thoughtful narrative serves as an inspiring reminder to all Regenites that our words have the power to raise awareness, touch hearts and spark meaningful conversations about important societal issues.
