The ceremony encouraged them to grow into responsible, resilient individuals who contribute positively to Singapore.
On 5 August, our Secondary 3 students marked an important milestone in their educational journey as they received their National Registration Identity Cards (NRICs) during the annual NRIC Ceremony at Regent Secondary School.
The NRIC Ceremony is a meaningful rite of passage for Singapore citizens and permanent residents as they turn 15. Beyond receiving an identity card, the occasion marks an important step towards greater maturity and responsibility. It serves as a reminder of their growing role as members of the community and their responsibilities towards Singapore.
During the ceremony, students reflected on the importance of active citizenship, integrity and social responsibility. They were encouraged to take pride in their identity, uphold their responsibilities as citizens and contribute positively towards building a caring and inclusive society.
The ceremony concluded with form teachers presenting the students with their NRICs, followed by the cohort’s recitation of the National Pledge. This solemn moment reaffirmed their commitment to Singapore and the shared values that bind us together as a nation.
We congratulate our Secondary 3 students on reaching this significant milestone. As they continue their journey towards adulthood, we hope they will grow into responsible and resilient individuals who contribute meaningfully to their school, community and country.
