Total Defence Day 2026
Together We Keep Singapore Strong: Total Defence Day 2026
Every year on 15 February, Singapore marks Total Defence Day. This year, Regent Secondary School commemorated the occasion through three key segments that reinforced the importance of resilience in today’s rapidly changing world.
Students first engaged with the Total Defence Lesson Package, where they explored how threats today extend beyond traditional warfare to include digital and psychological challenges. Through discussions and scenario-based activities, students brainstormed ways to respond to modern crises, strengthening their awareness of how every individual plays a role in keeping Singapore safe and united.
As part of Exercise SG Ready on 6 February 2026, the school also simulated a large- scale digital connectivity disruption. During the exercise, students learnt how to identify misinformation, practise alternative communication methods and understand the importance of Digital Defence. The activity highlighted how staying calm, thinking critically and supporting one another are essential during times of disruption.
The spirit of Total Defence was especially evident during the Uniformed Groups parade held on 10 February. Members of the National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC), Red Cross Youth (RCY), Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Brigade demonstrated discipline, unity and commitment to service. This was followed by student presentations reinforcing the message that defending Singapore is a shared responsibility, with every action contributing to a stronger nation.
Through these experiences, our students were reminded that resilience, vigilance and unity remain key to keeping Singapore strong for the future. By staying prepared for disruptions—both physical and digital—we ensure that Singapore remains a safe and sovereign home for all.
