Hari Raya Celebrations 2026: Weaving Ties, Deepening Connections
As the holy month of Ramadan came to a close, Regenites came together to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri, embracing the values of gratitude, humility and togetherness while strengthening bonds within the school community.
On 31 March 2026, students from Secondary 1 to 4 took part in an interclass craft activity centred on creating iconic Hari Raya items that symbolise connection and togetherness. Using simple and recyclable materials such as ice cream sticks, each class designed and constructed meaningful pieces inspired by themes of reunion and family bonding.
The programme celebrated cultural heritage while promoting empathy, creativity and camaraderie. From miniature ketupat and hanging lanterns to open house table settings and songket-inspired designs, the works reflected familiar Hari Raya motifs. Through the process, students explored how these symbols represent warmth, generosity and the sharing of food and conversation during the festive season, while also adopting sustainable practices through the use of recycled materials.
More than a display of creativity, the activity highlighted teamwork and shared cultural appreciation. Students exchanged ideas, supported one another and engaged in meaningful conversations about their traditions, fostering deeper connections across diverse backgrounds. The celebration provided a valuable opportunity to appreciate Muslim traditions while strengthening unity within the Regent community.
