Racial Harmony Day 2026
As part of this year’s Racial Harmony Day celebrations, the theme “Our People, Our Tapestry” encouraged students to deepen their appreciation of Singapore’s multicultural heritage and the values that unite our diverse communities.
Through a range of interactive learning experiences, students explored the stories, traditions, and cultures that have shaped Singapore’s unique identity. During their Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) lessons, students visited a Virtual Heritage Gallery curated on Padlet. Each level explored a specially designed gallery featuring festive celebrations, traditional attire, local cuisines, cultural practices, and interesting facts about Singapore’s different communities. These activities helped students develop a deeper understanding of the importance of respecting cultural diversity and recognising the contributions of every community to Singapore’s shared identity.
Students also reflected on how their perspectives had grown and considered meaningful ways to build stronger friendships across different races and cultures. Adding to the celebrations, the Parent Support Group (PSG) organised interactive cultural booths where students experienced traditional games, participated in hands-on handicraft activities, and sampled a variety of local delicacies.
Through these engaging experiences, Racial Harmony Day aims to inspire students to embrace diversity, strengthen mutual understanding and contribute towards building a more caring, inclusive and united Singapore.
