World Water Day 2026
Let’s R.O.W. (Reduce Our Water): World Water Day 2026
On 22 March 2026, Regent Secondary School marked World Water Day with
a vibrant line-up of activities designed to deepen awareness of global
water challenges and inspire action. Anchored in this year’s theme, Water
and Gender, the programme invited students to reflect on how access to
clean water shapes the lives, education and opportunities of women and
girls around the world.
The day began with engaging presentations by our Environment Champions,
who brought real-world issues to life through stories and insights from
water-scarce communities. Their sharing helped students develop a clearer
understanding of the challenges faced by many, as well as the importance
of equitable access to safe water.
Environmental Science students further enriched the experience by curating
informative displays on global water issues. They also highlighted Singapore’s
national target of reducing per capita water consumption to 130 litres
per person per day by 2030, encouraging their peers to take an active role
in achieving this goal.
Learning was made interactive through Blooket quizzes and escape room-style
challenges, where students worked collaboratively to solve problems related
to water sustainability. In the canteen, booth games offered hands-on opportunities
to explore simple yet impactful ways to conserve water in daily life.
Through these experiences, students gained a deeper appreciation of water
as a precious resource and recognised their role in building a more sustainable
and equitable future.
